Spent a couple of nights here off - season. The owners were wonderfully accommodating. Had the heaters turned on on the cabin for when we got there. Beautiful cabins. Two minute walk to the beach. Look forward to returning in the summer.

The cafe is also great and the family that owns and runs the entire property is friendly and awesome. The pannekoeke is delicious. (It looks like a thicker and more cratered version of a crepe, but I'm not certain if the ingredients are identical.)

I will be visiting Cape Breton again, but I will not be going back to the Dancing Moose Cafe.

However, my experience was ruined by the waitress we had. When placing my order I simply asked if it would be possible to trade the little assorted dish of fruit that came with that I ordered or an additional piece of toast instead. Well... that was NOT an acceptable option to our waitress and she proceeded to rudely decline that possibility, and then continued to make fun of me for it the rest of our time there. When our food was delivered to our table, she took the little bowl of fruit, and set it at the opposite side of the table from me and said "Look now it's not even close to you. Hope that makes you feel better." in a very rude tone.

When placing my original order, I was very polite when I asked if I could swap the bowl of fruit for an extra piece of toast, so the fact that she was so rude to me for no reason for the rest of the time I was there was uncalled for.

Fascinating spot with very homey. Everyone working there seemed to be having a blast which was cool to see.

The cabins are efficient but don't come with sheets at the standard price, so bring your own, pay up, or use a sleeping bag (which is what we did). The bathrooms are 30 metres away, but each bathroom is assigned to a specific cabin, so you're not sharing with other guests. Dogs are allowed, which is excellent!

We stopped here for Breakfast on our departure day from Cape Breton and the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and the food was good.

The pancake thing (forgot what the real name is; something Dutch I believe) was filling and tasty. You can devise your own full breakfast into those things as you can put fillings INTO the dough as well as toppings.

Best place we ate in all of Nova Scotia. Service was very friendly. Felt very homey. Honestly can't say anything negative about this place, everything was amazing! When I go back to Cape Breton, it's for sure I am going to stay in one of their cottages because they have the best breakfasts I have ever had!!!!! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!!
